Imphal, December 10:
All Manipur Naga Students Association, Manipur (ANSAM) and Kuki Students Organization (KSO) have urged Governor Ved Marwah to take up steps for setting up a separate education directorate for the hill districts.
In a four point joint memorandum, the student bodies said the measure will go a long way in promoting better education in the hill areas.
The memorandum demanded appointment of MPSC recommended teachers who are on relay hunger strike currently.
It also drew the attention of the Governor in the alleged violation of reservation rules in the recently declared DPC of Hindi graduate teachers.
The student bodies further requested Marwah to hand over the entire construction and development of the National Highway No 39 from Maram to Senapati to the Border Roads Organization (BRO).
